Who We Are

Since 1997, the Sdarovia Hospital has contributed to countless positive changes in the lives of hundred of people. Outstanding patient care in this poor region of DR Congo, research and education have helped Sdarovia Hospital to emerge as one of the best centres for children's health care in the DR Congo.

Since the earliest days of the Sdarovia Hospital, people from all walks of life have contributed to making Sdarovia Hospital better. Through their generosity, these supporters have been our main source of funding for what government does not provide for research, new equipment, and renovations. These funds help ensure that the hospital continues to be one of the DR Congo's leading paediatric centres.

The Hospital Sdarovia is a private hospital with a principal goal being to help the Congolese population to access quality health care for a low price. The Hospital Sdarovia is thus offering “a social and community healthcare service” : a service not expensive and accessible by the majority of the population. The choice of the location of the Hospital Sdarovia is not the fruit of the chance. Indeed, the Hospital Sdarovia is located in the peripheric borrough of Ngaba where the population is generally poor because: 1) of the very high rate of unemployment, 2) of both periodes of plundering in the city Kinshasa and 3) of the war of aggression against DRCongo. This poor population is our target.

The Sdarovia Hospital

We support different programmes ranging from basic education and mother and child health. The Sdarovia Hospital specialises in projects supporting poor communities in the growing, overcrowded city of the DR Congo, Kinshasa. All of our programmes aim to promote positive and lasting change, to support community self-reliance and to reduce long-term dependency.

The ATMA Foundation (ATMA) is governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. The current Chairman of the Board is Dr Paul Bobe Alifi Leta. The members of the  Hospital Sdarovia Foundation are: 1) the Hospital Sdarovia , 2) Doctor Paul Bobe Alifi Leta, 3) Mrs. Christine Lisungi Tabu, 4) Mrs. Germaine Okeke and 5) Mrs Van Den Hoven.

The location of this foundation is in the enclosure of the Hospital Sdarovia , which is Masimanimba, 84 Bis, in the Mukulua District, borrough of Ngaba. Dr Paul Bobe Alifi Leta is the Executive Director of the Sdarovia Hospital and, together with the senior medical team, oversees the daily operations of Sdarovia Hospital.

Sdarovia Hospital works year round. Behind closed doors the Sdarovia Hospital continues to grow; there is an army of 15,000 children leading lonely, sad and frightened lives in the streets of Kinshasa. They may require support for mental health problems, addictions, lack of self-confidence, lack of self-esteem....

Our particularities:

We accept for the primary care and for the maternity, any patient, who has or not the possibilities of paying for the medical care. Our patients can also pay after having received medical care. The reception and the care exemptions reflect the respect which we give to our patients. This aspect is one of the causes of successe of the Hospital Sdarovia.

What Does the Hôpital Sdarovia Foundation Do ?

Sdarovia Hospital Foundation raises awareness and funds to help the Sdarovia Hospital in Kinshasa and in other regions of DR Congo.

Sdarovia Hospital Foundation is a global campaign, with partners in the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Sweden, United States and Canada.

96% of your donation gets passed to the Hospital for the implementation of the projects. Our outreach and administrative costs are funded by the remaining 4%.
